Merry Christmas from here

Hi tatters, I don't have any tatting to show, but today I did
work a little on my Spring doily.
I want to let you know that I probably won't be back to the blogs
until after the new year.
My mom is dying and I have been all wrapped up in taking care
of her and many things I know nothing about.
I have been at the hospital with her every day since we had to
break into her house and find her.  I don't have time for much
while trying to make sure she is kept comfortable and pain free.
I just know I am missing out on a lot of beautiful tatting,
and I want you all to know that I would comment, but
it's not possible with this situation.
Please have a very Merry Christmas, and a blessed  and
Happy New Year!!!  :)

Guess what I just inherited.....

My in-laws just dropped by and my mother-in-law
said that her friend(who knows I tat) sent these
threads and said that "I needed them".
She is a very sweet lady and I am blessed!!  :)
Right now I am working on the start of next year's
challenge(first to finish this years-late), and the gold
thread in this bag is calling me(love the sparkles)!
I think these are all size 10, but I just got them
and quick too a picture before running out of light
(I used the flash too) so that I could show you!  :)
Happy tatting everyone!!!  :)

Possible treasure

This book was given to me last night
by one of our Sunday night seniors.
She has given me some threads which
are older, but she is a smoker and they
are all dingy looking so I am just going
to give the threads away, but I saw this
and found several tatted edging patterns
in it.  It has a copywrite date of 1963.
The tatted edging are all beautiful and
I hope to have some time next year to
work on some.
Believe it or not, this book is only
a little larger than the size of my hand.
Have a wonderful day and happy tatting!!

A Snowflake for physical therapy

This is called Snowflake based on Heart Doily-
pattern here:
It's tatted in size 20 Lizbeth Christmas Delight.
I think there might be an error in the pattern on the
final part, but I will have to tat it again to know for sure.
As for the physical therapy part...last Sunday night
I fell on the ice at the end of our driveway.  I have
been telling everyone that I am talented and I can
move at lightening speed, and I don't ever want to
do it again!!!  I fell on my left thigh and it's very
colorful now and somewhat painful, and I took the
skin on my right hand middle and ring fingers. I
can't bend my fingers all the way closed to make
a fist, so I am hoping that tatting time will work
them into healing while the skin heals.
Have a wonderful tatting time!!! :)

My large snowman suncatcher with lights and, our daughter spoiled me!

I found a package of unique lights which I don't
remember buying and I thought the snowman
needed something at night, so here he is!  :)
Our daughter is so sweet!!  She knows I love my
homemade cocoa and she spoiled me yesterday!
She bought me these two really neat mugs!

These will get great use over the next couple of
weeks and maybe longer, because we are expecting
very cold temperatures and continuing snow fall.
Happy tatting everyone!!!!  :)

Very Large Tatted Snowman Suncatcher

Sunday afternoon and night we got snow!!!!
I love the look of the bushy tree thing covered in
snow.
We have 2 pine trees on each side of our mobile
home and the amaze me when the branches hold so
much snow.
To get the snow started I spent Sunday morning
stringing my tatting into this wire snowman
frame to create my first very large suncatcher.
And just so everyone knows, this one is MINE!
I got this wire frame snowman(which is actually
a Christmas card holder), many years ago hoping
to add tatting and make him a fabulous one of
a kind giant suncatcher.
I took these pictures today and you can
see that most of the snow is gone, but
they are saying this weekend there is
a lot more on the way(up to a foot).
I tatted this from the Exquisite Luncheon Set on pg. 30
of the book Tatting Doilies & Edgings edited by Rita Weiss.
It's only the center and I added clear beads to
to each ring, and then strung it to the wire
frame with large clear beads for more sparkle.
I plan on adding tatting to the scarf area,
and to the cheeks, and tatting to the hat,
but at least this much if finally done for
this year.  It's as large as a whole
regular size window(top or bottom
section of the window).
This is just so you can see more of the
snowman!!!  :)
Have a wonderful day and hopefully
some tatting time too!!!!!  :)

A Christmas surprise for our younger granddaughter

Our younger granddaughter asked for a charm bracelet
made with these charms(since she saw them sitting
around last time she was here).  So, last night as I
was thinking about her request for me to make her
necklaces and bracelets for Christmas, I searched
for a good color to go well with these.
This is size 20 Over the Rainbow HDT from
Custom Cotton Etc. on Etsy-  link here:
Oh, I guess I should tell you this is my design.  It's
my Simple Fidgety Bookmark pattern: bookmark
shown here:
Now all I have to do is sew in the ends and add a lobster
claw clasp.  It's long so she can "grow" into it.  :)
Have a wonderfully blessed day and enjoy
tatting!!!  :)
