A (possibly) life long continuing project-the Tablecloth(not doily)

For all those who have wondered about the tablecloth
I started in January 2011,
the last time I showed this was here:
Well, Saturday we had an All Day Praise with our group of
seniors and I brought this tablecloth to work on when I
had a break, and I got 1 motif added to it-there really
wasn't much time for breaks due to several people
not being able to join us and me having to fill in the
quiet moments.
Well, when I woke up yesterday I got looking at
the motif I joined and realized I had joined it incorrectly
and so I just snipped it off.  Well, a desire to replace
it was very strong and I got to work.  So, as you can
tell, this end is now wider than the rest of the tablecloth.
I added 6 motifs on the left side, and 5 to the right(the
strings show the new additions).
I was quite surprised by the progress I made.  I hope it keeps
up this year so I can have something more like a tablecloth
than a table runner.  If you notice, I finally figured out how
to achieve my half-moon shapes as the center strip has.
So...I think it will give this tablecloth it's own personality.
Oh, it's 34 1/2 inches long and this end is 15 1/2 inches
wide.

Well, off to work on the "normal" things of life, and I
hope to have more tatting time today!!! :)

Tatting along......

Elaine P. Gan's Wave Runner again. I added another
tatted strip to make it more square.  I like it!!  :)
I also have another ornament which has a top
and a bottom, but I am needing to make sides
to hold it all together.  :)
Have a wonderful tatting day!!!  :)

A Personal Challenge for me

Last year we went and visited one of our favorite
Christmas stores: Bronners-link here:
I wanted to get an ornament display for my
glass ornaments with tatting.  Well, the
one I planned on getting was small and
displayed only 6 ornaments, but I love the
design.  Well, our daughter saw this one,
which is the largest they sell, and she talked
me into it.  So, my personal challenge is
to fill this before Christmas this year!
There are 4 hangers per level, and there are 6
levels, so I need to have 24 ornaments on here
by this Christmas.
I had started 4 different tatted pieces and today I
finished 2 for this ornament.  Now let me say that
attaching it to the ornament could have been more
decorative, but I wanted an ornament done today
since we are almost to March already, so I just
quickly strung it on(not evenly either).
The pattern is Picture frame #1 from Christmas
Angels and Other Tatting Patterns by Monica Hahn.
Although, I didn't do the second round.
I have also started frame # 2 for another ornament,
but I am out of time for today so it will wait.
Happy tatting everyone!!!  :)
I hope you all meet your goals or challenges
 this year!!!  :)

2017 25 Motif Challenge # 6

I have been tatting believe me or not.  I have
also been sick for 2 weeks while trying to test
tat this design, let me suggest not doing that!
This is another Elaine P. Gan design inspired by
Priscilla Tatting, she calls it Wave Runner.
I tatted the first section ok, then going on to
the next section and getting to the part where
you join the two sections and my head was all
"fogged" up, so I messed up and re-tatted the
beginning section of the joining to the first part
4 times.  Finally today my head is clear and look!-
I completed it correctly!!!  :)  Just don't look
too close at the ends cuz' I see that I messed up
2 of them, but it's ok with me!  :)
This color scheme is inspired by Grace from the
center of her Spring Doily here:
I love the combination and will use it again!  :)
Oh, I guess I should tell you that it's Lizbeth
size 40 Pineapple Parfait and Butterfly Breeze.
I am hoping to add another section to square it off.
I hope your day is blessed with happy tatting!!!  :)

More Test Tatting

Elaine P. Gan is designing and tatting again.
I did these Hearts of Bliss earrings for our
8 year old granddaughter(she didn't ask for
earrings, but I think she will like them).
They are tatted in size 40 Lizbeth Razzle Dazzle
with tiny purple beads.
I am test tatting a mat right now, but had to take a
break after 5 little repeats due to a headache coming
on, and the constant directional changes in the pattern.
Happy tatting and have a blessed weekend!!!  :)

Another necklace for the 8 year old

Needing to get back to actually working on
a challenge I have set for myself, but I
have enjoyed tatting for the granddaughter!!
This is the Celandine Necklace by Kersti link here:
It's imperfect, but still looks great for a young girl.
It's tatted in size 40 Lizbeth Lilac Dk. with some
random beads I had.  Scanning doesn't make it look
as pretty due to the larger bead in the center, but I
think it's good enough.  And for those interested
in trying it, I will warn those who hate to tat in
sections, this is tatted in 3 parts, and I had to sit
and figure out how to tat one side in reverse to
have it all facing (as correctly as possible) the front.
Hope you are having a wonderful day and getting
some tatting in!!!  :)

A Ripple Necklace for an 8 year old

I scanned this, so it doesn't show up as nice as possible.
This is Yarnplayer's Ripple Necklace.
Our granddaughter told me last fall that she wanted
some tatted necklaces.
So, this is the first one.
I made one mistake by making 1 too many repeats
on the first row of the pattern, but I just added an
extra ring on the second part.  I figure that no one
will really notice, especially on an 8 year old.
I added the beads for some weight, plus they look
pretty!!  :)
It's tatted in size 40 Lizbeth Raspberry Pink Med.
and Tropical Punch.
Happy Tatting everyone!!!  :)

2017 25 Motif Challenge # 5

This is something that caught my attention one night
while not being able to sleep-I was going through
the antique patterns library.
This is Figure 48 from Tina Frauberger's
Schiffchenspitze 1919.
It's tatted in Lizbeth size 40 Raspberry Pink Med.
and Tropical Punch.
I don't know if it's correct according to the
directions because they are in German(I believe),
and I guessed and deciphered what I could(I
even skipped one line because I couldn't figure
out where it would go).
I also tatted a necklace(actually the necklace was
tatted first), but I am working on attaching findings,
and then I will post it.
