Ice Drops with long bugle beads

I wanted silver bugle beads for Ice Drops, but Hobby
Lobby didn't have them so I went to Michael's and
found some, but.....even though they were marked
#3 like the ones I have from Hobby Lobby there were
not the same size.
This is tatted in size 40 Lizbeth Christmas Green with
long size 3 silver bugle beads and silver beads.
Here is a picture to show the drastic difference.
I have used the gold ones, the tiny one is to try and
make the same Ice Drops as earrings for a friend,
and the silver next to the gold is the new one, used
in both of today's Ice Drops.
This one is tatted in size 20 Lizbeth Snow White
with long silver bugle beads and tiny read beads.
Hope your day is blessed with tatting!!! :)

Tablecloth progress for this year: Very slowly and forever growing

Continuing on the tablecloth one motif at a time.
I now have the skinny end equal in width and
a billion ends to sew in, so, I think I will be sewing
before adding more motifs so this might be as big
as it gets this year.
A review from Mar. 2, 2017 when I started widening
it this year.
Great progress on width on March 4th.
Notice the length in the top picture from today,
And this was where it was March 8th.
It's slowly coming along, but this year I have put
tons more time into it and I am seeing it become
something.  Now, if I had been so diligent the
full 7 years I have been working on it, it would
probably have already been done!  Oh well.
Happy Tatting!!

2017 25 Motif Challenge # 11 &12 and another Ice Drop

The snowflakes are from 20 Twenty to Make
Tatted Snowflakes by Jennifer Williams.
Tatted in size 20 Lizbeth Blue Ice with tiny blue beads.
It curls cuz' I used tiny picots and the beads barely
fit on them and I still had to make a join.
This snowflake is named Mary.
Neither snowflake is terrible hard, the challenge
on the first was due to my small picots, the challenge
on the second was bead placement.
This next snowflake is named Auriel.
I tatted another Birthday Ice Drop in Lizbeth size
20 Snow White with gold beads and a frosted gem.
Here's a collection of recent projects.
Happy Tatting everyone!!! :)

A Rainbow to brighten my mood!

A friend needed a tatted lanyard to hang
her cross on, so...I tatted one for her!!
She loves purple so I used purple beads.
It's finished an looks much better than I
thought!!!!
Not my best work, but I have tried tatting
a lanyard 3 times over the past few months
and just could not get it to work right.
First, I had beads which were too heavy
and larger than these, then I was using
size 20 thread which wasn't working.
Next, I got these beads and they are too
large so I finally switched to size 10 thread.
It's cheaper, but it's bright and fun and it
works!!! :)
A little close-up below.
Happy Tatting!!!  :)

Important question for the experts!!!

I have been adding motifs to the tablecloth and doing ok until a couple of weeks ago.  As I was adding another motif I realized the motif I needed to join to had a mistake in it and I couldn't join to it and it needed to be cut out.  So, I just finished the motif I was tatting and had already joined to the other joins and just put a picot where it would have been joined and cut out the motif with the mistake.
Twice now I tried to fill in the spot of the one I cut out, but I have made mistakes and had to cut them out also.  Well, tonight I thought I had it figured out and got it right, except that when it was finished I realized that I had twisted the motif and joined it in a twist so it had to be cut out also, but somehow I cut the wrong motif and the one left has no picots to join to.  I am not sure how to correct this.
If anyone knows how to fix this, please let me know.

Happy Tatting everyone!!

Color Change!!

This is size 40 Lizbeth Christmas Red with gold
beads.
I used the frosted gem for the center and I only
put 3 beads on the points of the outer chains,
but I put 1 bead in the center rings to draw some
gold to the center.
Have a wonderful week, and happy tatting!!! :)

2017 25 Motif Challenge # 10

This is not terrible hard, but I started and made
a major mistake of joining all the large rings as
well as the small rings which was not working.
It's tatted in size 20 Lizbeth Black and Rainbow
Splash. Colors inspired by Tatting Tatsright
from Facebook. The pattern is here:
It's the bottom pattern, although I am planning
on trying the top pattern when possible.  :)
I also worked on a few other things today.
I was trying to tat a small Ice Drop with the small
clear gem, but it kept slipping out of the tatting
so I tatted chains with tiny beads around the front
to tighten it a bit.  ;)  The Peacock Blue pieces
on top were supposed to be for it, but..... they
were not large enough so I thought some young
girl would like them for earrings, so I have to
assemble them.
And, I am working on a lanyard for a friend.  I have
failed twice at doing what I wanted to do, so I decided
to wing-it and just tat!!!  I will post it when it's done...
maybe.  ;)
Have a wonderful weekend, and
Happy Tatting!!!!!!!!  :)

2017 25 Motif Challenge # 9

This first picture is my challenge piece.  I think I did
pretty well on it.  It's from the book 20 Twenty to
Make Tatted Snowflakes by Jennifer Williams and
it's called Karen.  I call it a winter motif.
I also got done tatting another Birthday Ice Drop.
Love the way it looks in the sun, and wish I could
capture the amazing sparkling in these drops!!
And, playing around I tatted this simple sequin
motif using up thread.
Had a little snow last night, but it didn't last.
Have a wonderful day with tatting!!! :)

Another Birthday Ice Drop

This one is tatted in size 20 thread, the others in
size 40.
In order as tatted, but notice the last one is pretty
much the same size as the others considering it is
tatted in larger thread(I'm confused).
Our daughter brightened my weekend with this
adorable new friend, Peppermint the reindeer!!!
Great Ice Drop mascot!!  ;)
Have a wonderful week of tatting!!!! :)

Some tatting, some thinking.....

Another Birthday Motif Ice Drop just different beads.
Here are all three side by side with the slight differences.
About 6 years ago I tatted treble clefs for some ladies
I know who play guitar in ministry.  Well, a friend of
those ladies(whom I know) asked me recently if I would
tat a treble clef for her.  Since she is closer to me than
the others I thought I would try to make hers more
special.  I have a treble clef and two music notes so
far.  :)  Pattern for the treble clef here:
Pattern for the music notes here:
All tatted in size 10 Royale thread.
Now as for the thinking......I got into my bag of blues
Ice Drop gems which contain blues, frosted and clear
just to realize that clear are much, much smaller than the
first two.  So....I thought I could make Ice Drop earrings
with these and they would be real Ice Drop earrings, but
they are smaller than the glass beads I use for my Ice
Drop earrings, so.....I am going to try a different stitch
count for my size 40 Ice Drop earrings, or go to size 80
and see if it will work.  ;)
So....there is part of my very gray day!!!
Happy tatting and have a wonderful day
wherever you are!!!! :)

A second for today

Details in last post.
This one uses all iridescent gem, bugle beads,
the "round" beads and seed beads.
Looks great with my Frozen folder!
Side by side with the first one.
Love these!!!! :)
Have a wonderful day and tatting too!!! :)

2017 25 Motif Challenge # 8

It's an awful gray day so I can't show how beautiful
and sparkly this Ice Drop is.
This is Birthday Ice Drop from Nicola Bowersox
adapted from Wally Sosa's 2015 Birthday Motif.
This is tatted in size 40(the pattern is in size 20)
Lizbeth Blue Ice thread.  It's so pretty!!!
I have added a few more motifs to the tablecloth,
and am working on a necklace for our younger
granddaughter(only needing the chain).  Will post
it when it's finished.  :)
Happy Tatting everyone!!! :)
